Modern Technology and Marriage
Tuesday, 02 June 2009 00:00

What has technology got to do with marriage you say? Well I think you have to be really careful that you don't let the technology disconnect you from your spouse. I'm not even talking about the computer and porn and how additive that can be, I'm talking about things like texting. It's OK to text but remember that human contact is soooooooooo very important to your relationship. That voice on the other end of a phone or that special touch can keep you close.

The pet peeve I have with texting is when you're texting the other person either of can decide you're done texting, say "I gotta go" and just not respond back to the other person. When you are actually talking on a phone you have to take the responsibility to give a reason as to why you need to go. You would never just think of hanging up in the middle of a conversation!

I think it's just another way to lose human interaction if you're not careful. This society already has enough broken marriages. Don't let technology creep in and cause problems as well. Marriage is very precious. You and your spouse need to have as much human interaction with each other as possible.

We're all so busy. Don't always use texting in place of your spouse's voice. Make that connection most of the time with your voice and use texting with each other sparingly.
