Since I posted about Mother's Day...
I I thought it was only fair to mention something about Father's Day last weekend. Let me tell you what we did for Father's Day. I cooked a brunch for Rick and invited all our sons. We enjoyed eating and talking together. Then we gave him some gifts. Afterwards, we went to church and then we just relaxed for the rest of the day. I've been very fortunate in my life to have been blessed with a very good and loving father. He passed away almost nine years ago. He was kind and compassionate. He taught us how to work hard and be responsible. We knew growing up that he loved our mother and us. One of my favorite memories is that he used to go every Easter and get an Easter corsage for my mom and all three of us girls. Then on Mother's Day he would either get us another corsage or if they were low on money he would clip a red rose from one of the rose bushes and pin it on for us to wear to church that day. He definitely wasn't perfect but he was a good dad. I also have been blessed with a loving husband that is also a very good dad. He works hard, provides well for us, and has always shown his love for me. And once again , he isn't perfect by any means. You can tell that by some of my other posts! He drives me crazy some days! But he is a good man. I feel very fortunate to have him in my life and to be married to him. So what did you do for Father's Day for the special men in your life? |
