Life Is Precious!
Wednesday, 14 October 2009 08:27
I don't know why we have to have a tradgey happen to make us take a moment and once again understand and feel... how precious life is and how most of us tend to take it for granted.  You all know I go to Curves and there's an instructor over there who had a daughter who just had a baby. The baby was born with a whole in his heart and other complications and passed away.  The daughter had her baby at home with a midwife. This instructor, who is more of a friend than an instructor to me, and I were talking just a couple of weeks ago. She was really worried about her daughter having this baby at home.

And of course it was due to the fact that their health insurance was horrible, didn't cover chidbirth or something like that. I can't remember the details. But in talking to her those couple of weeks ago and now that this has happened, I honestly think the Lord was trying to prepare her and let her know this was going to happen. He knew she would have to be strong for her daughter. The reason I say this is she just couldn't let it go, just really worried something would go wrong.

Not the normal, just didn't like the idea of birth at home. She was really worried about it. I think sometimes we just need to stop and listen to those little voices and take them seriously. Not that I think giving birth at home had anything to do with what happened. I just think in this busy world it's a gift from Heavenly Father when he tries to prepare or warn us about things in our life . This life is so precious and it's a gift from him. There's a quote that I have on my refrigator and I love it.

It goes like this,"In the beginning...What we are, Is God's gift to us; In the end...what we become, is Our gift to God." Elder Ricketts

My heart goes out to my friend, her daughter and her family. What was supposed to be a very happy occasion is really sad. Nothing is worse than a mother having to watch her children have to go through pain and sorrow and knowing there's absolutely nothing you can do to take the pain away. Just be there, wrap your arms around them and feel their pain as well. And once again be reminded that life and the moments we have are precious.
