| Why Do We Need a Holiday to Show Our Appreciation? |

I know a lot of people feel like... we shouldn't need a particular holiday like Mother's Day to show our appreciation for our moms. They think it's another day for the card shops like Hallmark to make lots of money and let's face it, it is! But so what? I think it's kinda nice. My husband and sons made sure I had a nice day. It makes you feel appreciated when your children make breakfast for you or perhaps as they get older (as mine have) they do a bar-b-que. They did all the cooking right along with their dad. It's just as sweet when they're younger and they give you stinky cologne that they picked out just for you or when their handprints are painted on clay or paper for you to display. This is their way to let you know they love and appreciate you even though most of the time it feels as if they just expect it because you're the mom. It wouldn't matter if all we got was a hug and thank you for most moms, although a gift and or dinner is nice! HA!HA! It's rejunivating to get that big hug. It makes it all worth it. So once again Happy Mother's Day to all you moms and to all women who have an influence for good on any child! |
