This past Saturday Rick and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. (Our actual anniversary is todsy.) He couldn't get any time off from work yet so we just celebrated around here. We have a trip planned for later this summer. We want to hit the road and retrace the route and visit all the places from here to Califoria that we saw on our honeymoon. We also want to do all the things that we did while we were there. For example, in San Francisco, we'll visit Fisherman's Wharf, China Town, and Golden Gate Park, etc. Then we'll go to Santa Cruz, the boardwalk, the beach, and so on. Then we'll head for Solvang and Disneyland. I plan to have a ball! But for this past weekend and our actual anniversary, we spent the day together on Saturdat. We also bought something I've been wanting for a while and had dinner at a nice restarauant. But the thing Rick did that I loved the most was he surprised me with a dozen pink tipped white roses and a card. But this wasn't just any card. It was one of those that when you open it up, it plays a song. This one plays the song "You're Still the One." You know the one, "After all these years, we're still havin' fun and you're still the one." We both just laughed and laughed and it made my day. I know I'm still the one but after 30 years and a few more wrinkles and extra weight, it's just nice to hear. We had such a good day. Now you tell us. What are your ideas for a romantic selebration, either for an anniversary, birthday, or just a nice weekend date? Let us know and remember most of the time the simple ideas are the most fun and the most memorable! |
