Octamom – You Know – The Lady With 14 Children
I’m sure by now all of you have heard of the lady (Nadya Suleman – everyone’s been calling her “Octamom”) who recently had the eight babies.
And she’s got six more at home. I understand people being upset with her for having so many children and getting public assistance. But let’s wait a mnute and take a step back. What about all these women or young teenage girls who pop them out like bunnies one after the other who are getting public assistance?
How is that any different? I understand having one child, anyone can make a mistake and get pregnant. But seriously how is it any different having two, three, four or more over the span of a few years and getting assistance? This lady just had them all at one time! I would be checking out the doctor and the feritility clinic to try and understand why they would ever make it possible for her to deliver that many babies at once.
Why did he insert that many eggs at once? Aren’t there laws or regulations the doctor has to go by? And besides, since when do we as a people have the right to tell a woman or a couple how many children they can have? Is this not a FREE country? Not that I would choose to have that many children, let alone that many at one time but it’s a right that shouldn’t be taken from her, even if we don’t agree with it.
Abortion activists have been fighting for years for women to have the right to do what they want with their own bodies. Well, what about a woman’s right to have as many children as she wants? We as taxpayers pay for the assistance for clinics, birth control, or food stamps. So what’s the difference?
If it’s the fact that she’s receiving assistance that’s made everyone mad or upset, then you better see the flip side about what I said before. If its the fact in general that she has so many children, then you need to take a step back as well. She has that right. We seem to forget that rights belong to both sides, no matter what you think or believe personally.
And its wrong to send threats just because we disagree with what she has chosen for herself and her children as long as these children are in a loving home and are taken care of. A lot of people find out afterwards that providing for children is a lot more expensive then they ever imagined and need help. Seriously, take a look around folks!
